There are bands that burn bright for a few years before fading into the background.
Then there's Nonpoint. For nearly three decades, the South Florida hard rock veterans have remained one of the most consistent and resilient forces in heavy music. Through changing musical trends, label changes, lineup shifts, and an ever evolving rock landscape, Nonpoint has never lost sight of who they are, a band built on passion, perseverance, and songs that connect with fans on a deeply personal level. As they prepare to release their 11th studio album, The Last Word, on September 18, Nonpoint isn't looking back on its legacy. They're writing the next chapter. Formed in the late 1990s, Nonpoint quickly established itself as one of the most energetic live bands in the hard rock and alternative metal scene. Led by the unmistakable voice of Elias Soriano, the drumming of Robb Rivera formed the band. In 2011, Nonpoint added rhythm guitarist Rasheed Thomas and bassist Adam Woloszyn, and in 2019 lead guitarist Jaysin Zeilstra was added to the mix. Nonpoint broke through with 2000's Statement, introducing fans to the anthemic "What a Day" before reaching even greater heights with songs like "Bullet with a Name," "Alive and Kicking," and "Breaking Skin." What has always separated Nonpoint from many of their peers is their longevity. While countless bands have come and gone, Nonpoint has continued to evolve without abandoning the aggression, groove, and emotional honesty that built its fanbase in the first place. Their catalog has grown to include eleven studio albums spanning more than 25 years, each one reinforcing the band's reputation for combining crushing riffs with memorable hooks. Independence Has Never Sounded Better In 2021, Nonpoint took complete control of its future by launching its own label, 361 Degrees Records. The move wasn't simply about owning masters, it was about creative freedom. That independence is now paying dividends. With The Last Word, the band has complete control over its vision, allowing the music to speak louder than ever before. Enter The Last Word Due out September 18, The Last Word marks Nonpoint's first full length studio album since 2018's X and arrives carrying significant momentum. The lead single, "Is It," immediately reminded fans why the band remains such a force, pairing heavy riffs with introspective lyrics and a chorus built for arenas. The song quickly gained traction at Active Rock radio, signaling that Nonpoint is as relevant today as it has ever been. Elias Soriano summed up the spirit of the record perfectly: "In a world that sometimes wants to put a timestamp on creativity, The Last Word is our way of saying we're just getting started. We're pushing back against expectation and pushing forward into our own next chapter." That mindset has defined Nonpoint throughout its career. Rather than chasing nostalgia, the band continues to push forward, embracing heavier textures, fresh songwriting ideas, and a renewed sense of urgency while remaining unmistakably Nonpoint. The Live Experience If you've ever seen Nonpoint on stage, you understand why they've maintained such a loyal following. Their concerts aren't just performances, they're explosions of energy. Elias commands every stage with relentless intensity, encouraging fans to sing every word while the band delivers groove-laden riffs and crushing rhythms that have become their trademark. Whether it's a festival main stage or a packed club, Nonpoint approaches every show with the same philosophy: leave everything on the stage. That commitment has kept fans coming back year after year. One thing I absolutely love seeing during their shows is how in sync Rasheed, Jaysin and Adam are thrashing around the stage during breakdowns. The Last Word... For Now At a time when many bands begin celebrating anniversaries instead of creating new music, Nonpoint continues to challenge itself. The Last Word doesn't feel like the work of a band coasting on its reputation. It feels like the work of musicians who still have something to prove. After nearly three decades, Nonpoint remains one of hard rock's most dependable, hardest working, and most authentic bands.
