Machine Head and Killswitch Engage will join forces this summer for a 16-date tour. The announcement was made Tuesday through a news release. According to the document, the tour is scheduled to kick off June 3 in Detroit, MI and to run through June 7 in San Francisco, CA. It includes scheduled concerts in cities, such as Raleigh, NC; Dallas, TX and Tempe, AZ. Machine Head front man/founder Robb Flynn said in a statement, he is looking forward to the tour. “I’m genuinely fired up to finally be hitting the road with Killswitch Engage — we’ve shared history and respect for a long time, but this will be the first time we’ve actually toured together, and that makes it feel special,” said Flynn. “Getting back into major cities like New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Albuquerque, Orlando and more with this kind of energy behind it is exactly where Machine Head belongs. Big rooms, big crowds, big nights — this tour is about connection, intensity, and reminding people why heavy music hits hardest when it’s experienced together.” KsE front man Jesse Leach, in a separate release, shared Flynn’s enthusiasm for the upcoming first-time tour together. “I’m extremely excited to get back out on the road supporting our newest album This Consequence!,” said Leach. “We are hitting major cities and bringing along with us an absolutely killer lineup with the legendary Robb Flynn and Machine Head, thrash masters Iron Reagan, and rounded out by the mighty Havok. This is a stacked and powerful crew of bands that will electrify and dominate wherever we roll up to… so LET’S GO!!!!!!” Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday. the tour’s schedule is noted below: 06.03 Detroit, MI @ The Fillmore Detroit 06.05 Minneapolis, MN @ The Fillmore Minneapolis 06.07 South Bend, IN @ Four Winds Field 06.09 Raleigh, NC @ The Ritz 06.11 Brooklyn, NY @ Brooklyn Paramount 06.12 Boston, MA @ Roadrunner 06.13 Bethlehem, PA @ Wind Creek Event Center 06.16 Orlando, FL @ Hard Rock Live 06.17 Atlanta, GA @ Tabernacle 06.19 Dallas, TX @ South Side Ballroom 06.20 Houston, TX @ Bayou Music Center 06.21 San Antonio, TX @ Boeing Center at Tech Port 06.23 Albuquerque, NM @ Revel Entertainment Center 06.24 Tempe, AZ @ The Marquee 06.25 Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Palladium 06.27 San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield Machine Head’s upcoming run is in continued support of its latest album, Unatoned (2025). The band, Friday, premiered the video for its new single, ‘Devil’s Triangle.’ The song is the latest single from the band’s recently released album, Reign of Steel. The song’s musical arrangement is a rich, heavy, power metal composition that like much of the album’s content, will appeal easily to the band’s fans and those of fellow power metal acts, such as Saxon and Judas Priest. The song’s lyrical theme is a story about the Bermuda Triangle, one of the most talked about parts of the world that has seen so many planes and ships disappear. More specifically, it tells the story of the doomed Flight 19 group of planes that disappeared decades ago inside the Triangle. To this day, the fate of the flight group is still unknown. ‘Devil’s Triangle’ is just the latest single to come from Reign of Steel. The band released another single from the album, ‘Riding on the Wings‘ last month. Two more singles — ‘Bloodbath‘ and ‘Blast The Highway’ — preceded its own debut. More information on Death Dealer’s new single is available along with all of the band’s latest news at: Website: https://www.deathdealermetal.com By: Philip Sayblack Septultura will release one final record before finally calling it a career. The band made the announcement Thursday through a news release. According to the document, the band will release a new EP, The Cloud of Unknowing Apr. 24 via Nuclear Blast Records. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band unveiled the record’s lead single, ‘The Place‘ Thursday. The musical arrangement featured in the six-minute-plus song is an engaging presentation that blends elements of doom and sludge metal for the band’s own unique composition. Front man Derrick Green discussed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement. “This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life,” said Green. “Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.” The Cloud of Unknowing will be Sepultura’s first new music since the release of its then latest album, Quadra in 2020. That record was also released through Nuclear Blast Records, which had been the band’s label home since 2011. Sepultura is in the midst of a global farewell tour, which it announced in December 2023. The next leg of the tour — a North American leg — is scheduled to kick off Apr. 29 ion Montclair, NJ and to run through May 29 in Los Angeles, CA. Ahead of the tour’s kickoff, the band Wednesday, premiered a live clip of the title track from its latest album, Zenith, which was released in 2025 through Nuclear Blast Records. According to information provided in the news release announcing the debut of the new clip, the video is an amalgamation of footage recorded during Bleed From Within’s 2025 EU/UK tour. It features the band on stage, back stage, prepping for its concerts, and of fans lining up for the band’s shows. The band addressed the video in a prepared statement. “Zenith was very nearly one of the lead singles during our album campaign,” the staement reads. “In light of this, we decided to cut together some of the incredible footage captured by our dear friend and long time content king, Tom Armstrong and give it a proper music video as we approach our next round of touring. The final result is a snapshot of the biggest headline tour we’ve ever done up to this point. The statement continues, “The Zenith tour travelled across UK and Europe and was a massive step up for our band. We were consistently blown away by the support shown by our fans. The tour culminated with 2 sold out shows at the Glasgow Barrowlands, the venue that we’ve been dreaming of headlining since we started this band 21 years ago. Surrounded by fans, friends and family, we celebrated everything that we’ve worked towards over the last 2 decades. Metallica will have a residency this fall at Las Vegas’ famed venue, Sphere. The band made the announcement Wednesday through a news release. According to the document, the residency, which the band has dubbed “Life Burns Faster” will see the band perform eight dates at the facility in October: Oct. 1 and 3, Oct. 15 and 17, Oct. 22 and 24, and Oct. 29 and 31. Tickets are available here. Metallica drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich discussed the upcoming residency in a prepared statement. “About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!,” said Ulrich. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!” Metallica’s upcoming residency will be produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind. The band announced Wednesday through a news release, it will release its new EP, It Calls Me By Name Apr. 17 through Fearless Records. In anticipation of the record’s release the band also premiered the EP’s lead single, ‘Swamp Song‘ and its companion video this week. The song’s musical arrangement is a familiar, heavy metalcore composition that will appeal equally to established and new Wage War fans. From the crunching guitars to the equally powerful vocal delivery and the solid rhythm section, each piece of this composition offers its own appeal. The whole makes the song’s musical arrangement a solid first impression from the forthcoming EP. The song’s lyrical theme was discussed briefly by the band in a collective, prepared statement. “The tone setter, SONG OF THE SWAMP’ is rooted in where we’re from,” the statement reads. “Driven by Florida and the raw aggression of nature, it’s a heavy track built on tension and hostility.” The statement also saw the band address the EP, noting, “It Calls Me By Name is about being drawn to your roots. This isn’t a concept EP but is meant to live in its own world. Five tracks shaped by Florida, the swamp, and the relentless aggression of nature. Built heavy, but still driven by the hooks that have defined us. It’s our signature sound amplified and pushed further into metal than we’ve ever taken it.” The track listing for It Calls Me By Name is noted below along with the dates for the band’s upcoming spring tour in support of the EP. Tickets for the tour are available here. The band announced Wednesday through a news release, it will release its new album, Born to Kill May 8. The record will release through Epitaph Records. It will be the band’s first new studio recording since the release of Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes in 2011. That record was also released through Epitaph Records. In anticipation of the record’s release, Social Distortion unveiled the record’s title track and its companion video Wednesday. The song’s musical arrangement is a straight forward rock and roll style composition that is instantly infectious. It is an easy fit for any active rock radio programmer’s play list. No information about the song’s lyrical theme was provided in the news release announcing the details of the new album’s release. The lyrics provided with the song’s video hint at the theme being the familiar topic of celebrating individuality and self-confidence. This as front man Mike Ness sings, “I’m the underdog/Who ends up on top/The rebel poet/With the peacock strut/Gonna make a change/Gonna rearrange” Speaking of the video, the video is its own familiar presentation style. It features the band performing its new single on a sound stage dressed to resemble a live stage setting. The setting is fitting considering that the band also announced this week, plans to tour in support of its new album late this summer and early this fall. The North American tour is scheduled to launch Aug. 25 in Phoenix, AZ and to run through Oct. 3 in San Diego, CA. The tour includes stops in cities, such as Raleigh, NC; Detroit, MI and Reno, NV. The Descendants and The Chats will provide support. Tickets are available here. Hamilton debuted his new single, ‘The Come To Jesus Moment‘ Friday. The song is a catchy composition whose semi-southern rock lean makes it somewhat comparable to works from the likes of Reckless Kelly. Hamilton discussed the song’s creation with co-writer and Wicked Cool Records founder Steven Van Zandt in a prepared statement. “When Stevie (Van Zandt) and I were working through the demos for the new album, he was really taking his time with the songs,” Hamilton said. “Taking them apart, and putting them back together, in the best possible way. It resulted in most of the songs on the album becoming co-writes, which I was thrilled about. Stevie has a way of seeing a song’s potential and then making sure it reaches that potential.” Hamilton continued, “With ‘The Come To Jesus Moment,’ he didn’t really have any big changes. “He liked the song as it was, but he had a minor tweak. He suggested changing the title and the lyric to ‘The Come To Jesus Moment.’ It seems like a small change, but it totally changed the feel and direction of the song. That minor change influenced the way I sang it, the feel, the emotion, the production—everything. I know Stevie loves this song, and I do too. I’m so proud of how it turned out.” More information on Ryan Hamilton’s new single is available along with all of his latest news at: Website: https://Ryanhamiltonmusic.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RyanHamiltonandTheHarlequinGhosts Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRyanHamilton By: Philip Sayblack Reunited and it feels so good is the line for August Burns Red and Fearless Records. The band has signed a new record deal with the label, returning the group to the label’s artist roster, after releasing its most recent album — Death Below (2023) — through Sharptone. Prior to its release, the three records that preceded it — Guardians, Phantom Anthem, and Found in Far Away Places — had been released through Fearless Records. To mark the new deal, whose details were not announced, the band debuted its new single, ‘Behemoth‘ and the song’s companion video Friday. Guitarist JB Brubaker discussed the song in a prepared statement. “‘Behemoth’ is a song that probably went through more revisions and changes than any song we’ve ever written,” said Brubaker. “While frustrating at times, the conversations and re-writes were worth the effort as we collectively feel very proud of how this song turned out. I believe it’s one of the heaviest and most raw songs we’ve ever delivered.” Front man Jake Luhrs addressed the song’s lyrical theme in his own comments. “Lyrically, ‘Behemoth’ speaks about the realization of past pains living through present actions in life,” said Luhrs. “With the determination to face this reality, a process of healing and breaking old ways leads to a rebirth. It’s about cutting the ties to your past, giving it no space to live in the present, and inevitably, changing the course of your life.” In other news, August Burns Red also has a spring tour planned for this spring alongside The Amity Affliction. Scheduled to kick off Apr. 10 in Worchester, MA and to run through May 17 in Philadelphia, PA, the tour will see support from Boundaries and Heavensgate.
