Exodus is helping make this spring even heavier for hard rock fans.
The band announced Wednesday through a news release, plans to release its new album, Goliath March 20 through Napalm Records. The band’s 13th album, it will be the group’s first for Napalm.
The band released a collective prepared statement, noting the group’s excitement for the album’s release.
“Are we excited for this record? That’s an understatement,” the statement reads in part. “We put everything we had into this record (and it’s 80 percent complete follow up, but we’ll save that conversation for another day!) and it’s one of our proudest accomplishments. Wildly collaborative, the most band centric album to date with four songs written by Lee, lyrics by Gary, Rob, Lee and Tom, and just killer all the way around. The time to let the monster loose is coming! Bow Down!”
The new album will span 10 tracks and will be released on a variety of platforms, all of which are listed below along with the album’s track listing.
Goliath tracklisting:
1             3111
2             Hostis Humani Generis

6             Beyond The Event Horizon

In anticipation of the album’s release, Exodus unveiled the album’s lead single, ‘3111.’ The song’s musical arrangement is an engaging composition, opening with what can only be described as a sort of doom metal type guitar line and drum performance. As the song progresses that doom metal approach gives way to an intense full-throttle thrash metal approach that throws back to a stylistic approach used by the band much earlier in its career. It is a style and sound that is sure to appeal to established Exodus fans.
According to the band, the lyrical content featured in the song, which is also the album’s opener, “is about the narco killings in Juarez, and ‘3111’ is the estimated number of murders for 2010 alone.”
In other news, Exodus has an extensive tour schedule set in support of Goliath‘s release. The global tour includes runs across North America, Canada, and Europe and the United Kingdom.
