Audiences are getting one more preview of Megadeth’s forthcoming final album. The band premiered Wednesday, what it is saying is the final single from the band’s self-titled record in the form of ‘Puppet Parade.’ It follows three other singles, ‘I Don’t Care,’ ‘Tipping Point‘ and the album’s most recently released single, ‘Let There Be Shred.‘ Front man and founder Dave Mustaine discussed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement. “‘Puppet Parade’ is about somebody’s mundane life and how they go through life with everyday being the same as the day before,” said Mustaine. “It is about a person who has a dead-end job, a dead-end relationship, a dead-end life. Many of us are going through this monotony, even right now. I wanted to share ‘Puppet Parade’ to try and illustrate how we often show people what we want them to see, instead of how we really feel.” The song’s musical arrangement is, interestingly a good pairing with that theme, considering that it is so familiar. It is not the high-energy thrash that audiences have come to expect from Megadeth. Instead it is quite familiar territory and so far, the most radio friendly track on this record. Megadeth is scheduled for release Friday. The band will launch a tour in support of the album Feb. 15 in Victoria, BC. The first string of dates will take the band across Canada through March 6 in Quebec City, QC. The forthcoming tour includes stops scheduled in Calgary AB; Saskatoon, SK and Moncton, NB.
