By: Philip Sayblack Hard rock super group Metal Allegiance unveiled its latest single and video this week. The band, Tuesday, premiered its new single, ‘Black Horizon,’ and the song’s companion video. The song’s musical arrangement is an interesting hybrid type of composition, blending elements of thrash, prog metal, and even a touch of 80s hair metal for a whole that is certain to engage and entertain audiences. According to guitarist Alex Skolnick, the song’s arrangement is music that the band had been holding onto for some time, “This song is a gift from the ghost of MA past,” said Skolnick. “It’s salvaged from a stockpile of riffs we’d started long ago but never quite finished.” Skolnick added that the vocal performance of William Duvall is a new addition to the presentation. According to information provided in the news release announcing the premiere of the new single and video, the song’s lyrical theme is a social commentary about where the world has been and where it is headed. The song’s video is an intriguing visualization. It is a science fiction tale that finds the beings aboard a space ship out in space. The beings seemingly are searching for something positive in their journey but things do not get any better as the song progresses.
