By: Philip Sayblack Nevermore is officially back. The band has signed a new record deal with Reigning Phoenix Music. The announcement was made Thursday through a news release. The announcement came more than a year after guitarist Jeff Loomis announced through his own social media that the band would reunite in 2025. He made that announcement in December 2024. According to the release, the band’s new lineup consists of Loomis on guitar along with Jack Cattoi also on guitar, Semir Ozerkan on bass, and new vocalist Berzan Onen. Onen takes the place of late Nevermore vocalist Warrel Dane, who died in December 2017 from a heart attack. Van Williams returns to continue handling drumming duties. Williams has been the band’s drummer since 1994 after replacing original drummer, Mark Arrington. Loomis and drummer Van Williams discussed the new announcement in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled to announce that Nevermore has officially signed with Reigning Phoenix Music!,” the statement reads. “It was obvious from the start that they were the perfect partner for the new era of Nevermore. Their passion for metal music combined with the extensive industry pedigree of their team made the choice easy. We can’t wait to get back on stage in front of our fans in Istanbul on April 1st, and we are just as excited to finish writing and putting together the new Nevermore album!” Reigning Phoenix Music Co-Founder Gerardo Martinez shared the pair’s excitement for the future for both sides. “There are no words to describe how proud and excited RPM is at the prospect of being part of Nevermore’s next chapter,” said Martinez. “Having been a fan since 1995 when I saw them on tour with Death, I’ve followed them on their entire musical journey and cannot wait for what is yet to come.” As a way to build excitement for Nevermore’s return, the band premiered a documentary last month via YouTube that presents rehearsals of various songs. Additionally, Loomis and Williams discuss the decision to resurrect Nevermore. Audiences can view the documentary here. In other news, nevermore has scheduled a concert Apr. 1 in Instanbul, Turkey. Tickets for the concert are available here.
