NEW MUSIC: ​ALTER BRIDGE Debuts New Album’s Second Single, Video

Alter Bridge fans have gotten a new preview of the band’s forthcoming album.
The band debuted its new single, ‘What Lies Within’ and its companion video Wednesday. The song and its video are the second from the band’s forthcoming self-titled album, which is scheduled for release Jan. 9, 2026 through Napalm Records. The band premiered the record’s lead single, ‘Self-Divide‘ last month.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘What Lies Within’ has all of the familiar heaviness and melody that audiences have come to know from the band over the course of its seven existing albums. Front man Myles Kennedy’s vocal delivery plays just as much into that presentation.
According to information provided in the news release announcing the debut of the new single and its video, the song’s lyrical theme is “a cautionary tale of the darkness inside mankind.” This is a familiar theme from rock, hard rock and metal acts across the board but is no less impacting here than in any other case.
The song’s video well illustrates that message with visuals, such as demonic skeletons, eerie looking eyes, and what appears to be a person battling all of those negative forces as the song plays over the visualization.
In other news, Alter Bridge recently announced details for a 2026 North American headlining tour to support its latest album. The tour is scheduled to launch Apr. 25 in Orlando, FL and to run through May 24 in Tampa, FL. Dates in cities, such as Omaha, NE; Detroit, MI and Montclair, NJ are part of that tour, which will see support from Filter, Sevendust, and Tim Montana.
Ahead of that tour, the band will makes its way across Europe for a tour that spans Jan. 15-March 5, with one more date — June 27 — in Cardiff, Wales. Both tours’ schedules are noted below along with the new album’s track listing. Tickets are available here.
