By: Philip Sayblack Rick Monroe and The Hitmen gave audiences a new preview of its forthcoming album this week. The band premiered its new single, ‘Bad Thing‘ Friday. The single is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, Southern Tea Bags, which is expected for release this year through Asylum 1212 Records/The Label Group/Virgin Music Group. The record’s release date was not noted in the news release announcing the single’s premiere. The song’s musical arrangement is a full-on southern rock song that the band’s established audiences will appreciate. It is easily comparable to works from the likes of Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Jason Charles Miller and others of that ilk. The song’s lyrical theme “captures the struggle of pushing through challenges while embracing a reckless spirit” according to information provided in the news release announcing the single’s premiere.
