Sabaton unveiled yet another track from its latest album, Legends, Monday. The band opened the week with the premiere of its new single, ‘A Tiger Among Dragons‘ and the song’s companion video. As with each of the album’s existing singles, the musical arrangement featured in this single is another familiar composition, complete with all of the orchestration, powerful vocals, and equally impactful instrumentation. Front man Joakim Broden discussed the song’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement. “Our song ‘A Tiger Among Dragons’ has a powerful, raw energy to it, but with a more melodic edge,” said Broden. “I like to think that it tells Lü Bu’s story with intensity and emotion—it’s epic, but there’s also a sense of drama and depth that really brings the legend to life!” The song’s lyrical topic this time focuses on the famed Chinese military leader, Lu Bu. Also known as “The Flying General,” Bu rose to fame during the late Han Dynasty. It was his leadership in the battle of Hulao Pass that truly cemented his legendary status. Bassist Par Sundstrom addressed the focus on Lu Bu and more in his own comments about the song. “When Joakim showed me what he, Chris and Thobbe had been working on with this track, I immediately felt that it was a song connected to Asia,” said Sundstrom. “The drumming reminded me of those big shows with loads of synchronized drummers. We then needed to find an Asian legend, and although there are many, we decided on China’s Lü Bu. He was the kind of warrior who felt more like a myth than a man, and when we saw how he was projected in comics, games and such, we felt that he was deserving of an anthem. We couldn’t resist turning his legend into a song, so ‘A Tiger Among Dragons’ was born!” While the song’s video looks AI-generated it is not. As is pointed out in information provided in a news release, the band performed in the video in attire designed by specialized costume designer. The band did perform the song in front of a CG-screen in a studio in Belgrade, Serbia. ‘A Tiger Among Dragons’ is jus the latest single from Legends. The album most recently produced the single, ‘I Emperor’ last month. It was preceded by the premiere of ‘Crossing The Rubicon,’ and it was itself preceded by ‘The Duelist,‘ ‘Lightning at the Gates,‘ ‘Hordes of Khan‘ and ‘Templars.’ In other news, Sabaton will launch the latest leg of its world tour in support of Legends Friday in Cologne, Germany. The tour is schedule to run through Dec. 13 in Stockholm, Sweden. Following its finale, the band will take some time offf to rest and recharge before making its way to North America beginning Feb. 9 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The band’s 2026 North American run is scheduled to last through Apr. 20 in Vancouver, BC. A series of overseas festival shows is scheduled for June 2026, too.
